Small single flowers of apple blossom pink with white. Masses of blooms in the summer then a short break and plenty more for late summer and autumn. This shrub rose which has been introduced in 1937 should grow to between 3 and 4ft and has a musky perfume.

Rosa Rubifolia

This shrub rose from 1800 should grow to between 6 and 7ft. It produces single star like flowers of soft lilac pink with soft creamy-yellow stamens. Unique plum gray foliage and purple stems which are much used by flower arrangers. It flowers in early summer followed by hips that are at first red, then turn to a burnished coppery purple in the autumn.

This shrub rose from the 12th Century should grow to between 3 and 4ft produces a stunning display of double white red and pink striped blooms with yellow centres. Reputedly named after 'Rosamund' mistress of Henry XI. A delightful old summer flowering rose with a pleasant perfume.

The Fairy Shrub rose

A shrub rose from 1932, should grow to between 2 and 3ft with masses of double pale pink rosette shaped blooms in large clusters. Flowers a little later than most roses but once in bloom it never stops and goes on right through into late autumn. Small bright pointed foliage which is quite disease free. Delightful scent.

The Jacobite Rose

This remarkable rose bred sometime before 1500 features white, near white and white blend blooms these produce a strong sweet fragrance and bloom once a year. This rose should grow to approx 8ft.
